How does Modern Drama handle shipping of my item?Modern Drama has worked with the same trusted shippers for over 20 years, shipping from coast to coast and internationally so you can be sure that each item is packed and handled with care.

Even with the most careful shippers, occasionally an item can be damaged in the shipping process, in which case, please notify us immediately upon receipt of the item. We highly recommend inspecting and unwrapping your item as soon as it’s delivered as delay in notification of damaged items may result in an inability to return.

Schedules vary throughout the year, but we typically expect that your item will arrive to you within 21-28 days. International shipments are expected to take longer and are subject to international schedules.

What is Modern Drama’s return policy?

Modern Drama works diligently to bring you the best of 20th century furnishings sourced from around the globe. As with all of our one-of-a-kind pieces, condition is consistent with age and varies accordingly. 

Feel free to ask additional questions and request detailed photographs, we’re happy to send those along.

Please keep in mind the following when returning an item:

Returns may be initiated within 2 days of delivery providing the item is returned in original packaging and in the condition it was received.

Return shipping charges are not subsidized and may be higher than the original shipping cost. Return charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

Any international customs, duties and taxes are not refundable.

All customized, refinished or made to order returns are at the seller’s discretion and must be approved prior to shipping.

Can I visit the showroom and warehouse?

Yes, we love to have you come by! Our address is 1701 N. Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60642.  We are on the corner of Elston and Wabansia.  We are open to the

public Monday through Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 

noon-5pm and Sundays noon-5pm.  You can also call 312-292-1843 and make an

appointment.

How does restoration work?

While we preserve pieces in their original, exceptional condition, there are times when restoration of marble, lacquer or wood may be necessary to restore and rejuvenate each piece to its original condition. Our crafts people are experienced in a variety of surface repair and are happy to work with you to customize the piece to your standards and specifications.

Do you reupholster?

Yes, in fact we have a full workroom that can reupholster nearly any piece to your specifications. We also have an extensive library of textiles for you to choose from or we can reupholster in nearly any COM.
